There will be days you wake up where even though you know exactly what you need to do, you just don't 'feel' like doing it.
You didn't sleep well. You learned of some bad news yesterday. Bad break-up. Whatever the case. You STILL have to be committed to progress. Let it fuel you.
As Malik Champlain reminds us, tough times don't last, tough people do.
Move forward with your daily routine. Life is too short to sit out on your dreams - even for one day, let alone, one hour. You have to show up with all the power and enthusiasm, because just as you feel the way you feel, after while, you will feel different. Emotions are fluid. Ever-changing. You can't depend on or allow your emotions to dictate the decisions you will make. They are unreliable.
Instead establish a consistent routine and stick to it, no matter the season or the mood. You've got a dream to be had and it can't wait for the right emotion to strike.
Tips to Get Moving When You Don't Feel Like It:
Tip #1: Reminds yourself of your 'why'
Why are you doing what you do? Who's counting on you? Your wife and children? Sister or brother? What goal are you trying to reach? If you stop now, how far will it set you back? Think of reasons why it is vitally important that you PUSH forward today.
Tip #2: Write down what you need to get accomplish for the day
It is scientifically proven that if you write down what you need to do, you are more likely to do it. Just seeing it on paper does something for your 'do it' stimulator. So next time a funk-mood strikes, write down your goals for the day.
Tip#3: Call your accountability partner for motivation
Accountability who? That's right. You should have someone you can call that will push you towards your goals. Someone that will remind you how important it is to GET THINGS DONE. Many of TGMS guests speak of this with major emphasis. Listen to some of them here.
